Definition: Cathexis; (Pronounced: kuh-THEK-sis); noun
1. The investment of emotional significance in an activity, object, or idea.
Why I love this word:
I have had to learn the hard way that sometimes emotionally investing in anything is draining. It's so difficult when you invest your love towards something and you are rejected. It makes you want to close your heart off forever. It's hard to see past all the hurt now, but apparently there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to keep traveling. Before you emotionally invest in something fully, make sure you read all of the warning labels and proceed with caution. But once you know that this is a good thing to invest in, pour your heart out! Life starts to feel fulfilling when you put your every soul into something.
