Gracious Word: Lucullan

5/17/2014

Lucullan
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Lucullan

Definition: Lucullan (pronounced: ey-graf-ee-uh); Latin; adj
1. Grossly self-indulgent; characterized by extravagance and excess.

Why I love this word:
I wouldn't consider myself to be grossly self-indulgent, but I do love to treat myself every once in a while and I see nothing wrong with that. I will say that one of my weaknesses is not being able to save money. I do like to spend more than I probably should, but I never feel bad about my purchases because they are never careless or thoughtless. Everything I buy has a purpose. And now I am talking like an obsessed shop-a-holic.
