Gracious Word: Meliorism

3/21/2014

meliorism
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Meliorism

Definition:
Meliorism (pronounced (meel-yuh-riz-uhm); Latin; noun
1. The belief that the world gets better; the belief that humans can improve the world.

Why I love this word:
Positive thinking changes the world. If you already think that the world is harsh, and the world is not a good place to live, then it will be so. Meliorism is like positive thinking, but better. It is the philosophical thought that the world can become better with human effort. If you want the world to be a better place, then you have the power to improve it. If you can envision it in the mind, you will begin to see it in the body. When you visualize, then you materialize.
