Gracious Word: Metanoia

3/31/2014

metanoia
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Metanoia

Definition: Metanoia (pronounced: meh-tah-NOY-ah
); Greek; noun
1. The journey of changing one's mind, heart, self, or way of life

Why we love this word?
I'll admit I can be indecisive and change my mind on things about a million times, but metanoia is deeper then just changing your mind over what restaurant to go to. Metanoia is about having a complete, thought out, and deep change in mind, heart, self, or way of life. Metanoia is a drastic change that could effect so many different areas with its change. Metanoia is a good thing, you never know how one decision or change of heart can change you life completely.
