Gracious Word: Natsukashii

4/23/2014

Natsukashii
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Natsukashii

Definition:
Natsukasii (pronounced: nats-ka-‘shE); Japanese; adj.
1. Of some small thing that brings you suddenly, joyously back to fond memories, not with a wistful longing for what's past, but with an appreciation of the good times.

Why I love this word:
Notice the final pronunciation of this word doesn't have an 'oo' sound in it, so be mindful of that.
I love this word because it reminds me that you are acknowledging your past, but aren't wishing it was your current state of affairs. You are acknowledging the good times you have had, the mistakes you have made and grown from, and the strong, individual you have become today because of it.
