Definition: Pedantic; (Pronounced: pəˈdantik) adjective
1. Ostentatious in ones learning.
Why I love this word:
Many people may think it's pedantic to know this many words and to able to express your feelings and emotions fastidiously. Ostentatious is characterized by or given to pretentious or conspicuous individuals who show in an attempt to impress others. But we are merely learning to better our vocabulary and speak more eloquently, not to impress others. So we are being pedantic but in the most positive and respected way.
