Word every Gracious Individual should know: Quatervois
Definition: Quatervois (pronounced: 'qua-ter-vwa); French; noun
1. A crossroad; a critical decision or turning point in one's life.
Why I love this word:
This is a word that takes some practice to confidently say, but once you've mastered it, this word holds a heavy meaning.
I think it would be fairly amusing if someone was to watch me as I go through the process of writing every morning. I always seem to answer my own questions after finishing an essay. Then I delete the entire thing and restart the same topic, but with a different perspective. I think that's what I love most about this art. I truly feel it's God's way of communicating with me.
When I first read this word, I considered what I wanted to say about it. I thought about how recently I've begun to question what I believe in, the power my daily decisions have on my reality, and if it was all synonymous with the plan that He has for me. I was unsure and lost. After writing it all out, and explaining my struggles with the crossroads I encounter on a daily basis, I seemed to have answered my own question, and I cleared the paragraph.
When you find yourself at a quatervois, and you're not sure which decision to make because you know in that moment there will be a clear before and after, a clear change in everything in your life, and you're not sure what to do: talk to Him. Restore your faith in Him, because He already has your life planned out for you. When you're faced with a decision and don't know which way to turn, you simply ask for His guidance, and He will show you the path you are meant to go.
