Gracious Word: Rantipole

5/4/2014

Rantipole
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Rantipole

Definition:
Rantipole (pronounced: '‘rant-i-pOl); English; noun
1. A wild, reckless young person.

Why I love this word:
Teenagers and young adults are known for making reckless decisions. You are in that really awkward stage where you're old enough to understand life; you begin to feel things and experience pain, love, and depression, but you are still living under someone else's circumstances. Whether that be your parents, other relatives, your teachers etc. whomever is stopping you or not allowing you to do something in your life. In result, because you know what's best for yourself, you go out and do it anyway. To you it's not reckless, because you are just trying to live life the best you can. The people who are keeping you from those experiences only make them that much more tempting to go after.
