Gracious Word: Resfeber

5/10/2014

Resfeber
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Resfeber

Definition: Resfeber
 (pronounced: RACE-fay-ber); Swedish; noun
1. The restless race of the traveler's heart before the journey begins. When anxiety and anticipation are tangled together; a 'travel fever' that can manifest as an illness.

Why I love this word:
This word simply describes the excitement you build up right before you embark on a new endeavor. And while writing out the definition, I also related this word not only to literal traveling of the world but also when you are about to start a new journey in the sense of a new school, a new job, or even a new relationship. Each of these experiences comes with feelings of excitement and joy because these are good new changes, but you also feel anxious and nervous because they are good new changes.
