Definition: Sciamachy (pronounced: SKEE-ah-mahk-ee); Greek; noun
1. A battle against imaginary enemies; fighting your shadow
Why I love this word:
It's all in your head. This word is all about your internal conflicts, the times you are too hard on yourself, and beat yourself up over mistakes made or chances not taken. This word is all about fighting the demons in your mind, and honestly the personal ones are much more difficult to fight off than the ones of other humans. It's the standards you set for yourself, it's how hard you are on yourself. It's all in your head.
