Gracious Word: Solivagant

5/8/2014

Solivagant Definition
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Solivagant

Definition:
Solivagant (pronounced: sO-li-‘vA-gant); Latin; adj
1. Wandering alone.

Why I love this word:
Solivagant is a word which can either be a noun which means 'solitary adventurer' or an adjective which defines someone who wanders or travels alone without company. I sometimes like to travel alone. It clears the mind, frees your thoughts and you are able to do anything you'd like without any pressure. I don't really like that society has made people think it's uncomfortable to go to a movie alone, or eat dinner at a table just for one. I go on adventures for myself all of the time. And that's perfectly fine. Just because I'm alone doesn't mean I'm lonely.
