Definition: Tacenda (pronounced: ta-‘chen-da); English; noun
1. Things better left unsaid; matters to be passed over in silence.
Why I love this word:
I think the definition of this word says it all. Maybe it's a conversation of a topic between two people who are fully aware of the elephant in the room, but bringing it up would cause more tension. Some things are best to be left unsaid, they aren't worth talking about because they are either not important or so important to talk about that no one says a word.
