Definition: Tidings; (Pronounced: tīdiNGz); noun, literary
1. News, information, or intelligence.
Why I love this word:
In the Gracious Stories Blog I have a category labeled Tidings. I was recently asked by a reader what that word meant and what was in that category. I decided to take this opportunity to make it the gracious word of the day! Tidings mean pieces of news or information. Before, this category on the blog was named Gracious News and now it has changed. In this category I post not news happening in the world but news happening to me (the gracious lady.) So anything that is changing in my life, anything I am excited about, anything I'd like to share with you, etc. This is the only section on the blog where it sounds like a personal blog/journal. Every other category on the blog focuses on having an “inclusive” language for the reader to follow along with practical life lessons and/or advice.
