Gracious Word: Forbearance

2/9/2014

Forbearance
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Forbearance

Definition: Forbearance; (Pronounced: fôrˈberəns); noun
1. Patient, self-control; restraint and tolerance.

Why I love this word:
One of my biggest weaknesses is patience. I have very high expectations for myself and when I don't see results right away, or at least in a certain time frame, I tend to get really discouraged. However, it's beginning to be detrimental to my mental health. But I must remind myself that true success takes time. The faster you rise, the harder you fall, so I guess it's good that it is taking my success some time to progress. It is giving me enough time to really evaluate what I want to do, how I want to do it and it's making me appreciate every little success as they come, one by one. It's keeping me much more grounded and for that, I guess I am grateful.
