Word every Gracious Individual should know: Manqué
Definition: Manqué (pronounced: man-‘kA); Latin; adj
1. Having failed to become what one might have been.
Why I love this word:
When I first saw the definition of this word, I will admit it was difficult to take in. Having put so much pressure on myself to want to become and grow a certain way, I get extremely discouraged and seem to lose hope quickly when I see things I have worked incredibly hard to try to achieve fail. I don't really know where I am supposed to end up, but I sure as hell am trying to find myself in this world. There are so many obstacles, disappointments, and journeys of the unknown. Having failed to become the one thing you see yourself becoming is an incredibly difficult realization to swallow. And it makes life that much more unbearable to get through. But I've learned to keep persevering. I think that has become my new life motto. Just keep persevering. Something amazing will soon manifest.
