Definition: eloquence (pronounced: ; Middle English; noun
1. The practice or art of using language with fluency and aptness.
2. Eloquent language or discourse: a flow of eloquence.
Why I love this word:
Language is the root of everything. It is the foundation for all that we do, how we communicate, how we listen, how we interpret, and how we express. Without language there would be no social interaction and no way to express our thoughts and feelings to the world around us. Language is the blend of all our roots coming together to create a unique symphony of sound forming words that identify our heritage to others. Language is the most important tool we have and having the skill to use language properly and elegantly is one thing everyone, especially a gracious lady, should know. It is for these reasons why eloquence is our word of the day, because when one speaks with eloquence they immediately command the attention of those around them and are viewed as intelligent individuals who have mastered the beautiful complexity of language. When one speaks with eloquence, they are speaking with elegance and poise.
