Gracious Word: Verve

2/6/2014

Verve
Word every Gracious Individual should know: Verve

Definition: Verve; (Pronounced: vərv); Latin; noun
1. Energy and enthusiasm in the expression of ideas.

Why I love this word:
In the late 17th cent. this word was defined as 'denoting a special talent in writing': from French, ‘vigor,’ earlier ‘form of expression,’ from Latin verba ‘words.’

That's how you know you're in the right career path. It's when your eyes fill with excitement when someone asks you to explain your craft. It's as if their asking for a sit down story because you just have so much to share, so many ideas to express. It's when you profess your ideas and thoughts with such energy and enthusiasm it gets everyone else just as excited about life.
