If you are about to make a decision that will effect your life and are afraid of the changes, ask yourself: 'What would I do if I weren’t afraid?' And then go do it.
First, Acknowledge your Fear.
This is a big first step and is the foundation for every other step. We all have fears, but they are at the back of your mind, going unnoticed and unacknowledged as we try to ignore their existence. But you need to acknowledge the fear. Know that it's there, know that it affects you and accept that you are meant to conquer it.
Feel the fear.
You’ve acknowledged the fear, but you’re still afraid of it. You are reluctant to have this fear, probably even embarrassed about it. Recognize that we all have fears and you are not alone. There is nothing wrong with having this fear. With that understanding, allow yourself to feel it. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Experience it fully, bask in this fear and take account that it's a part of you, but it doesn't control you.
What's the Worst That Could Happen?
Sometimes it's not as bad as we think, and in most cases, life goes on. If you are afraid of failing in a new career, you'd get another job and move on. If you're rejected by someone, you'll lick your wounds, find someone better, and you'd continue on living.
Be in the Moment.
Just do it. If you want to beat the fear, you have to just go for it. The fear of failure are fears of the future. We get caught up in what we think might happen. Dismiss all thoughts of the possible future. Even eliminate the thoughts of past mistakes and failures. Focus on the moment right now. When you find yourself thinking about the past or future, bring yourself back in the moment and focus on what you’re doing right at this moment.
Celebrate your Successes.
When you do something right, celebrate! Even if it's a small feat. Use this feeling of success to propel yourself forward to the next step. Then continue to build on every previous success and continue to grow.
