How to Feel Older While Still Being Young

9/17/2014

grown up
When we are young, we strive for just a little more sophistication, or at have a sense of being older. Here are some fun and silly ways to feel older while you're still young.

Develop Your Personal Style
The beauty of growing older is that peer pressure falls away and you don't really mind what people say about you. Personal style advances with age. So find out who you are, what you like and start dressing that way.

Eat Dessert
Gravity will inevitably weigh you down and your world will no longer revolve around tiny waists or firm biceps. I think this is great news. So go ahead...indulge. Everyone deserves to enjoy some sweet goodness.

Get a Furry Companion
I know I am destined to become a Crazy Cat Lady. I have absolute no shame. In fact, I can't wait to be done with school and live on my own to have as many cats as possible. As you get older you will discover that you'll become more passionate and obsessive over your pets than most people are about their children. I fear that is where my life is headed.

Walk Around
Get out after dinner and walk around your block or a park. People in Italy and Greece do this daily, they promenade with old friends around the neighborhood, hands folded behind their backs, reminiscing about the wonders of life.

Go to the Library
Yes, go get a library card. With everyone so tight about money during the recession, why not take advantage of free books and DVD's? Expand your brain with knowledge and your wise soul will eat up all the words on the page.

Drive Slowly
Slow living is really what it's all about. Slow driving means less gas and you're less likely to hit a texting teen or kid running around. Go grandma style. Drive slow and enjoy the ride.
