Take It As A Compliment
It really is a high form of flattery that you can be such a positive influence in someone's life. Maybe you should use some of your obvious positive influence and mentor them to make their own way and think for themselves. After all, it can be exhausting having to think for two people. So you can take this as a compliment, boost your own confidence and continue being yourself. You are in control of this situation.
Less is Best
Copy cats can only copy what they know. So the less you share the better. You have control over what people know about your life and what gets shared. It is my own fault that I have gotten excited about sharing my life with someone that they took it and ran with it for their own selfish benefit.
Redirect Your Focus
Focus on yourself and forget those copy cats! If their actions are really bothering you, then you are letting them take too much space in your precious mind where there could be room for more personal growth and amazing accomplishments. You are on a focused track to your own success, and they have an idea of success, but obviously get distracted easily. It's almost as if they have no self confidence in their own dreams and they are so intimidated by yours. They are fighting this battle between themselves and this painted idea they have of you trying to find a balanced middle. But they fail and just copy everything you do because you seem to be the only one in the room who has their life put together and they want to take part of your successes when they don't succeed on their own.
Remember: They Won't Get That Far
An inspiring and widely appropriate thought Albert Einstein said, “the one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no-one else has ever been.”
